DEVELOPMENT
- As the result of First Strike’s 19-years of experience, First Strike’s SAIF rate mode for 7/2006 to 7/2007 increased by only .06%.
- Workshops: Annual National Wildland Suppression Association (NWSA) Conference in Reno, NV in February 2004; highlighted speakers on Training Issues, Crisis Management, Driver Training, Drug & Alcohol Policy Review, SAIF, and Work Site Safety. First Strike was a guest speaker and/or assisted at each of these sessions.
- First Strike’s President, Management Officers, and Team Members continue to speak at industry associations at local, county and state forums regarding First Strike’s tragedy and Continuous Safety Improvement Program.
- Oregon SAIF/Workman’s Compensation: Workman’s Compensation Premium Comparison Plan for 2006/2007. While industry rates increased, Oregon SAIF did not increase First Strikes rates because of its safety record for the last 19 years and its Continuous Safety Improvement Program.
